Suspect Arrested with Help From CrimeStoppers Tip

On October 10, 2010 at approximately 2:50 PM an unidentified male entered into the Ocean City Home Bank branch in Absecon, NJ.  The unidentified male handed a note to the teller, which said the male had a gun and demanded money.  The teller placed a mimimal amount of money in a bag and handed it to the unidentified male.  This male fled the bank on foot. 

A video recording from the bank was shown on WMGM TV 40 newscast, and a picture of the suspect was shown in the Atlantic City Press.  As a result of the publics help by contacting Crime Stoppers via telephone or the website eleven tips were received.  These tips were immediately forwarded to the detective bureau at the Absecon Police Department.  Only seven of the eleven tips provided accurate information about the suspect and the bank robbery.  After an intense investgation by the detective bureau of the Absecon Police Department, a suspect was arrested for the bank robbery on October 15, 2010. 

The Atlantic County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors voted at their January 2011 meeting to award seven Crime Stoppers tipsters with cash rewards.
