Did You See A Crime Happen?
Scholastic Crimestoppers began in 1997 at Galloway Township Middle School. The program is backed by Crime Stoppers of Atlantic County and the Galloway Township Board of Education. Over the years, the program has helped to provide a safe environment for students to report tips about bullying, drugs, gang violence, vandalism, or even depression. The students can begin to show a sense of pride in doing the "right thing." The school program tipsters will have full confidence that their submitted tips will remain confidential, so as to forgo any fear of reprisal.
It is a student operated organization and funds are raised by members who make items for the student body to purchase. The funds raised are used to purchase supplies and also given as reward money to students who write an anonymous tip which helps solve a crime.
The tip information is reviewed by the administration, advisors, and resource Officer (Police) in order to verify information given and research validity.
Galloway Middle School has also devised a "Crime Watch" eboard which is available to all students, staff, parents, and community members. Any one can go to the site to report crimes in and around the school district.
Scholastic Crimestoppers is available to all Atlantic County Schools. Also, Galloway Township Middle School has indicated they are willing to share their website with other County schools! For further information, please Click Here to send us an email.
